What shall I tell about myself? The obviously easiest questions, are often the most difficult ones…
I am living in Germany, in the near of Cologne and I am a mother of four wonderful sons, who meanwhile are adult men. When they were little boys, I didn’t have time enough to practise things or hobbies only for my own. I only found time to do some sports and to sew with my sewing machine, but nothing else. Then two years ago, I suddenly discovered photography for me…and I contracted a passion at once.
When did you buy your first camera? What was it?
In the beginning of my first steps in photography, I used my mobile to take pictures. It was a Samsung S3…and until today, meanwhile I use a S7edge, I am absolutely astonished, what this kind of electronic devices are able to reflect in pictures. Then in autumn 2014 I bought my camera, which I use from then on until today.
I possess a 18-55mm lens, which was delivered with the camera kit, a 50-200mm lens, a 60mm macro lens, a 1:1,8/45mm-2D/3D lens and a 1:3,5/10mm fisheye lens. The lenses are all made by Samsung as well.
And I love my very lightweight travel tripod of Sirius…
What is your favorite genre in photography?
Oh…I don’t have a favorite genre. To be focused on only one genre, I am too much interested in so much things and situations. I always go through my life with my eyes wide opened and I love it when a subject literally jumps at me. So you can see pictures of landscapes, little objects, macros, street life, black and white pictures or architecture pictures taken by me. And…I like symmetrical perspectives.
As I explained a few sentences above, I am only a hobbyist…but this with body, heart and soul.
Which one is your favorite lens and why?
I like every of my lenses, but actually, I am in real love with my 1:1,8/45mm-2D/3D lens.
It is able to give a picture an absolute clear depth of field. It helps to bring a subject to „life“…to bring it in front, in focus of the eyes of the beholder.
I am not using much of such stuff. To edit pics taken by mobile, I often use apps like „Aviary“ or snapseed“.
For pictures taken with my camera, I sometimes use the software,
which is provided by my camera.
What is your favorite camera setting mode?
That depends on the situation: To take a lucky shot of a „fast“ situation, I sometimes use the automatic mode, but most of the time I prefer manual mode.
